The Korean automaker Kia has officially released details about the next generation Sportage SUV, the 2011 Kia Sportage. Sharing the same platform with its compatriot, the Hyundai ix35, the 2010 Sportage looks to have the leg-up on the ix35 in terms of being a little bigger and wider, which should translate into having a roomier interior.

The design for the new Sportage also seems to have benefitted from the supervision of Peter Schreyer, whose previous design work with Audi has seemingly translated into some of the aesthetic design cues that can be noticed in the new Sportage, including sharper curves, and a completely revamped front end that previous Sportage models didn’t come in.

Featuring a fresh, bold, athletic and sporty design; longer, lower and wider than the previous generation model, the new Sportage will offer more space for people and cargo, with improved ride quality thanks to the longer wheelbase; the new Sportage went on sale in mid 2010, with a choice of both diesel and gasoline engines following its debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show.

I hope you like this terrific car as much as I do. I fancy it so much that I've just bought myself one ;-)

A deserved star for the Canadian star

Grammy-winning Canadian singer Bryan Adams was honored with a star on Hollywood's storied Walk of Fame on Monday".

The idea of being part of it never entered my mind. It was too far-fetched. Today, I'm humbled at the induction of my name. It's fantastic," he added. Adams was born in Ontario, but spent much of his youth in England, Israel, Portugal and Austria, following his father's postings(he was a diplomat).

He hit the big time in 1983 with his third album "Cut Like a Knife," while his other hits have included "Summer of '69," "Run to You," and "Let's Make It A Night to Remember." The singer -- who is currently on tour, including a concert in Los Angeles on April 9 -- won a Grammy Award for "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," from the 1991 movie "Robin Hood -- Prince of Thieves".

Struggling to be the fittest

The Take That singers are both trying to shift the pounds after piling on weight since Christmas and Robbie is determined to lose more than his bandmate after learning he is starting a new eating plan.

The 'Angels' singer told The Sun newspaper: "Me and Gary vary in weight. We go up and down by the week.

"Gary and the boys were at my house in Los Angeles last week when Gary turns to me and says, 'I won't be needing these clothes soon, do you want them?' - because he's going on a diet.

"That was the day I thought, 'Right, if you're eating a lettuce, I'm eating half a lettuce.' "

The 37-year-old star has joked his weight loss ambition is to match Christian Bale's size in 'The Machinist' - a role which saw the British actor lose 60lbs by eating just a can of tuna and an apple a day.

He joked: "There is now a serious game on to see who can get the thinnest for the tour.

"You know 'The Machinist' with Christian Bale? I'm going for Christian Bale."

Despite Robbie's joke, the 'Kidz' hitmakers actually intend to get in shape healthily, with both of them working out with their own personal trainers.

They are also sharing a nutritionist called Jasmine who will work with them every day until Take That's 'Progress Live' tour starts in May.

'Flash' wins custody of his kids

"Heat guard Dwyane Wade recently won custody of his two children, ending a long court battle. On Friday, Wade's sons, Zaire and Zion, arrived in Miami. They previously lived in Chicago with Wade's ex-wife, Siohvaughn.

Wade said that it was a "huge weight" off his back. "My life changed in a huge way,". "Mentally, I've been preparing for it for over a year now. To me, it's bigger than that.

For me, it shows a lot of people that you need to fight to be in your kids' lives sometimes. You fight until you can't fight any more. That's all I was trying to be, a father in his kids' lives."

Wade and his ex-wife separated in August of 2007.

'The Boy Wonder' could leave 'The Red Devils'

The relationship between Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and striker Wayne Rooney has deteriorated again, with media reports suggesting the 25-year-old could be on his way out of Old Trafford.

The England striker almost left the club in October last year only to have a last-minute change of heart and sign a lucrative long-term contract.

But the new deal has done nothing to ease the strain on Rooney's relationship with Ferguson, with News of the World quoting a United insider as saying the situation has reached breaking point.

"Rooney has been moaning about the squad again, but Sir Alex has told him he should look at himself first before criticising others," the insider told NOTW.

"Sir Alex is not pleased with the way Rooney has been playing."

Formula 1: Ferrari's preseason

Formula One's preseason testing came to a close on Saturday in a rain-soaked practice session at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. But Ferrari's Fernando Alonso said he believes the Italian team is as ready as it will ever be for the season's first race in Melbourne, Australia.

“Overall, I think we will arrive in Melbourne in a hundred percent state of readiness, but whether or not that will be enough to win, we will not know until we are there in Australia,” said Alonso. “I feel confident, just as I did last year going into the start of the season.”

Ferrari only participated in the morning half of Saturday's test session because of the heavy rain. The Spanish driver only completed five laps, according to Ferrari. But the team closes winter testing after having accumulated the most laps overall.

Clint Eastwood's film stopped in Japan

TOKYO – A film distributor says it has decided to stop showing Clint Eastwood's tsunami movie "Hereafter" in Japan following a catastrophic quake.

Warner Entertainment Japan Inc. official Satoru Otani says theaters will no longer show the film. He said Monday the terrifying tsunami scenes in the movie were "not appropriate" at this time.

"Hereafter" opened in Japan in late February at around 180 theaters. Warner Entertainment initially planned to show the movie until late March.

Australia and New Zealand

An Australian or New Zealand meat pie is a hand-sized meat pie containing largely diced or minced meat and gravy, sometimes with onion, mushrooms, or cheese and often consumed as a takeaway food snack. The pie itself is similar to the United Kingdom's steak pie.

It is considered iconic in Australia and New Zealand. It was described by former New South Wales Premier Bob Carr in 2003 as Australia's "national dish". Across the Tasman, New Zealanders regard the meat pie as a part of New Zealand cuisine, and it forms part of the New Zealand national identity.

The popular brand Four'N'Twenty produces 50,000 pies per hour and Australians consume an average of 12 meat pies each per year. The average consumption of meat pies in New Zealand is higher at 15 per person per year. The meat pie is heavily associated with Australian Rules Football as one of the most popular consumed food items whilst watching a game.

Lady Charitable

In response to the devastating tsunami and earthquake that hit Japan on Friday (Mar. 11), Lady Gaga has designed a "Japan Prayer Bracelet," with all proceeds for the wristband going to relief efforts. The pop star posted the announcement on Twitter on Friday and provided a link to the item on the official store of her website.

The white wristband features the phrase "We Pray for Japan" written in both Japanese and English, as well as a pair of red hands making a clawing gesture. Each bracelet costs $5.00, but fans can make additional donations of up to $100 per wristband.

Gaga -- whose latest single, "Born This Way," notched its fourth frame atop the Hot 100 last week -- is one of many music stars to react online to the 8.9-magnitude earthquake which shook Japan and generated a tsunami of over 20 feet on Friday. Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and the Black Eyed Peas were among the artists to express their thoughts about the tragedy and send their prayers on Twitter.

Scotland

Haggis is a dish containing sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally simmered in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a casing rather than an actual stomach.

Haggis is a kind of sausage, or savoury pudding cooked in a casing of sheep's intestine, as many sausages are. As the 2001 English edition of the Larousse Gastronomique puts it, "Although its description is not immediately appealing, haggis has an excellent nutty texture and delicious savoury flavour".[1]

The haggis is a traditional Scottish dish memorialised as the national dish of Scotland by Robert Burns' poem Address to a Haggis in 1787. Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties" (Scots: swede, yellow turnip or rutabaga and potatoes, boiled and mashed separately) and a "dram" (i.e. a glass of Scotch whisky), especially as the main course of a Burns supper. However it is also often eaten with other accompaniments.

George Michael quits cannabis for good

The 47-year-old singer insists he has been clean since completing four weeks of an eight-week prison term for driving under the influence of drugs last September and has been delighted by some of the unexpected side effects of quitting his cannabis high, which is known for triggering a sudden desire for food in users.

He said: I'm having counselling about my ongoing drug abuse.

'Hopefully the period where I was a bit lost is over for good. I hope it's self evident just in the fact I've lost about 15lbs, I hope it's self-evident I'm not eating as much any more, which should tell you a lot. 'None of my trousers fit anymore, for the right reasons this time.

'I've dropped about 14 or 15lbs without really trying.'

Despite his weight loss, George is not convinced he will stay slender and hasn't yet accepted his slim frame enough to shop for new clothes.

He added in an interview with UK station BBC Radio 2: I've always been the porky boy in my head. I didn't realise on the last tour I was carrying all that extra weight! Now if anything, I'm a little bit skinny.

'I have two pairs of black jeans and they're the only ones that fit me. In my head I obviously think I'm going to put the weight back on so I haven't bought any new jeans.

'I've dropped about 14 or 15lbs without really trying.'

As well as losing weight, George says his sobriety has given him more 'courage' to try new things and tackle parts of his life he had previously kept hidden.

He said: I struggle to have more hours of social time because I'm trying to be a very good boy, that's a struggle but the work part is easy.

I went through a long period where I was afraid of doing things I wanted to do, and you get your courage back, which is what's important. Some days it's fearlessness, but I wouldn't normally go that far. There are aspects of my life that I treasure which I couldn't get my hands on in a weird way over the last 15 years and I can now, it's a bizarre feeling.'
